We had a great trip with Watu Safaris to Selous and Mikumi. The combination of the two parks made that we had a great experience and saw lots of wildlife. Excellent guide and great service by the people of Watu Safaris. An amazing experience!

Our safari to Mikumi was perfect - the wildlife was stunning and our driver, Nico was wonderful

We had a wonderful 2 day trip to Mikumi with RajaTours - we saw elephants, giraffes, wilderbeast, zebra, hippos, warthogs, baboons, birds, buffalo, lots of Impala and the highlight was seeing a leopard. Although the drive from Dar was long - we managed to see wildlife on both days and our driver Nico was great - charming, accommodating and went out of his way to look after us. We stayed at the Tan Swiss Lodge which I would highly recommend- perfect evening swim, friendly, welcoming staff and lovely food. Rajab was extremely helpful - he responded quickly to emails and made the booking really easy- even a follow up email to check we had enjoyed ourselves. COudnt have asked for more!

You must experience it because pics & videos can never capture the essence of a Tanzanian Safari

Everything was like a dream. The scenery itself is breathtaking, but with the animals, the experience becomes surreal. The animals roam the land freely, without humans getting in their way. Our accommodations were a perfect blend of luxury and camping (glamping), which gave us the feeling of early safari explorations with a touch of modern essentials. The food was locally sourced and delicious. The weather during our 5 day Safari was cool in the mornings and evenings, in the 80s (fahrenheit) during the peak of the day (we never wore shorts and wished we hadn't packed them). The air was very dry, though we did have a tiny bit of rain for about 30 minutes one afternoon. We did not know about Tarangire before, but are very grateful our booking company suggested we stop there. We thoroughly enjoyed it as well as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

I can say nothing but great things about Suricata. Great equipment, food, car, cook Salim and guide Ezekiel. They are both assets to the company. We saw almost all the wildlife we hoped to, didn't manage to spot a rhino or leopard. Guess this means we just have to go back! Would definitely recommend.

Our three day safari to Ngalawa camp in Selou was amazing and far exceeded our expectations. The wildlife and scenery were breathtaking and our guide ensured we saw all the animals we wanted to during our full day in the jeep, spending just the right amount of time at each place and telling us interesting facts about the animals, birds, trees and other nature. The accommodation was perfect for us and the food was really good. I cannot fault our safari as it was perfect in every way.

We had a one-week safari. Our guide, Salum, was awesome: a skilled driver who knows a lot about parks, animals and local life. We enjoyed all three parks we have been to: Selous (many animals, amazing landscape, lovely campsite), Ruaha (the most untouched and particularly quite) and Mikumi (with many animals but way more turistic and overcrowded). Accommodation and meals were good though basic. Sometimes we had lunch in unforgettable places inside the parks. Food in the Selous Campsite will stay in our memory forever: the best food we had over three weeks in Tanzania thanks to Amos!

Professionally organized and carried out safari. Great accomodation with wonderful view, sunrise and sunset... Enjoyed the huge Ruaha NP on game drives (seeing many different animals, many really close by...) and walking safari along the river. Would do it again and again!

Unforgettable safari in Tanzania thanks to Makasa Tanzanian Safaris and our chauffeur Robert
Overall rating

We have just returned from an eight-day safari in Tanzania followed by a five-day beach holiday on Zanzibar Island organized by Makasa Tanzanian Safaris. Selma and Ngomi happened to be there in our first hotel and waved us goodbye as we set off on what would later appear to be an unforgettable safari. Our stay in the two different tented camps in the Serengeti being one of the highlights! Our chauffeur Robert was the best guide one could hope for: he was very friendly with a great sense of humour and had extensive knowledge and expertise in wildlife, nature in general and birdlife. Furthermore we could ask him anything including questions about life in Tanzania in general.
Not only did we see the Big Five, including the leopard, but also the annual great wildebeest migration. These experiences left an undelible impression on us. The safari also covered the famous Ngorongoro Crater and the National Park Lake Manyara: especially the view at the rim of the Crater is spectacular. After our safari in Tanzania we spent 5 days at the Z-Hotel in Zanzibar where we stayed in a beautiful villa at a 10-minute drive from the hotel. Very helpful and accommodating staff who did everything possible to make our stay a pleasant one. We could also enjoy the full use of hotel facilities: we recommend dining on the beach. It should come as no surprise that we will recommend Makasa Tanzanian Safaris and its chauffeur Robert, should you consider a safari in beautiful Tanzania!
