Beautiful country; beautiful people

Wow, Tanzania was way more incredible than I had anticipated. I started with a trek up Kilimanjaro with Tusker Trail (highly recommended), and I was impressed with how well-maintained the trails, huts, and facilities are there. I heard scary stories, but none of them turned out to be true. Standing atop a 19,000' peak is a monumental achievement for me. It should be on every avid hiker's list, in my opinion.

After my trek I went on safari with Suricata (also recommended). It was other-worldly! You don't get that close to the wild animals in a zoo! And, thankfully, they are in their own home -- not forced (or drugged) into submission in a tiny cage. I went to Tarangire (great for elephants!), Ngorongoro (rhinos!!), and Serengeti (everything!!!). The birds are abundant and colorful. Lilac-breasted roller -- oh my! Secretary birds, bustards, water birds, and raptors. My guide was very knowledgeable and congenial.

The people in Tanzania are beautiful, too. While they may be poorer than many of us in the western world, they are a happy and friendly bunch, always with a hearty "Jambo!" and carefree "hakuna matata". I wish it didn't take so long to get there from where I live, but it was worth every hour spent in airports and jets to see such a beautiful place.

Absolutely stunning with an abundance of beautiful wildlife living in their natural surroundings

We chose a 3 day safari to Tarangire, Ngorongoro crater and Lake Manyara with Mountain Warriors, which certainly didnt disappoint. We were met at Arusha Airport by Osama who took us to our first park which was Tarangire. The place was beautiful we encountered many elephants, giraffes, zebra but didn't see any lions here. The second day we were picked up and taken to the Crater which was absolutely amazing. The drive down into the crater was amazing and the views spectacular. We saw elephants, many zebra and gnus, hippos and rhinos, hyena, warthogs and a lion and some lionesses, it was the best day, we stopped for a picnic lunch at a small watering hole which had hippos in it, it was idyllic. The last day we were again picked up early and taken to Manyara which had many monkeys and baboons there, we also saw elephants, bison, zebra, gnus and a lioness with her two cubs which was a fabulous sight. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed the safari, which was very good value for money. The hotel we stayed at for the two nights was beautiful and the food delicious. The guide/driver Osama, was very knowledgable and he kept us safe at all times, even when an elephant decided to turn and come towards our vehicle! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mountain Warriors to anyone wanting to part take in a safari in Tanzania. Five stars from us, thank you.

We spent 2 weeks in Sansibar, a wonderfull island, clean, safe and easy to travel (some roads can be difficult to drive with a rental car, we had a driver) and we made a 3 day Safari on main land. The organization was perfect (flights, accomodation, 3 parcs with amazing wild life). We can recommend our tour operator "faithfull adventure" for safaris.

If going on a safari with a Tanzanian wildlife expert and comedian sounds appealing to you, then ask for Osman, our tour guide, at Mountain Warriors Tours and Safaris. He took us through the beautiful landscapes of the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro Crater. We saw Africa’s Big 5 in less than 4 days and stayed in the most relaxing, scenic, and friendly lodges. I can’t even express how delicious I found the food in Tanzania. Vegans and meat lovers alike would absolutely enjoy their dining experience. Lastly, the weather took me by surprise. Breezy, but not cold or hot - it was perfect. I will be coming back!

I LOVED Tanzania and would highly recommend it as a travel destination. It was magical to see all of the animals living free in the wild - a dream come true that exceeded my expectations. I also love that Tanzania cares about its animals so much that they have effectively ended the poaching problem in their country. All of the people I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. I did a 5-day safari with Suricata Safaris that was AMAZING!!! The wildlife was incredible - I saw everything, from giraffes, zebras, elephants, baboons, monkeys, wildebeest, all kinds of antelopes, ostriches, lions, cheetahs, a leopard (with a cub!) to two far-away sightings of black rhinos!! INCREDIBLE!!! The Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater are places that anyone who loves nature and wildlife should absolutely see. I also did a one day walking, driving, canoeing safari in Arusha National Park (with Samson Safaris), which is much smaller but was a very different way to see the wildlife - the ranger-led walking safari was amazing. Lastly, I did a day hike on Kilimanjaro from Shira Plateau to Cathedral Point (with Africa Pathways Expeditions) - 12 miles (19km) round trip, 2000ft (610m) elevation, starting at 11,000 ft (3350m) elevation - such a great hike! Gorgeous views from Cathedral Point! All accommodations that I had were wonderful; food was great; and everyone I met was very friendly and helpful - granted I was pretty much in the tourism sector, so I cannot speak to walking around alone. I am a 59 year old woman traveling solo and I felt very safe and taken care of by all of the tour guides and hotel staff.

Tanzânia - Poetry!!!!!

Tanzania is a country of contrasts and natural beauty. From the vastness of the Serengeti, where the great wildebeest migration takes place, to the majestic peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is a paradise for nature and adventure lovers. The culture is vibrant and diverse, with influences from various tribes and communities coexisting harmoniously.

Zanzibar, on the other hand, is the perfect getaway in the Indian Ocean. Known for its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, it is also a place rich in history and culture, with the town of Stone Town being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mix of Arab, Persian, Indian and European influences creates a unique and fascinating environment.

These two destinations together offer a unique and unforgettable experience, combining the thrill of safaris with the relaxation of paradisiacal beaches.

Safari - Serengueti African Tours, definitely!!!!!

Tanzania is a wonderfully diverse country, both environmentally and culturally.

I set up a safari and beach tour package for me and my daughter that included 3 national parks in northeastern Tanzania and Zanzibar Island. Full Package Adventures, which I found through SafariBookings.com, managed the tour package and did a great job. We toured Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Parks, each environmentally different from the others and offering a different experience in each. I cannot really recommend Lake Manyara as a destination. It is heavily vegetated and we did not really get to see many animals or birds. Zanzibar was lovely, so different from mainland Tanzania. Our guides were great, spoke good English, and staff at lodges were friendly and
helpful. We felt safe at all times, but did not spend time in Arusha or Dar es Salam where one needs to be more careful. Tanzania is not easy to get to from the US, but was well worth the long journey.

October is a wonderful time to visit Tanzania. Finding an affordable safari can honestly be very easy as long as you are okay with less extravagant sleeping arrangements. The chances of seeing animals in the Serengeti are close to 100%. The people are very kind and accommodation, food and transport are all very affordable (coming from a US citizen). I would 100% come back to Tanzania in the future and would be interested in seeing Zanzibar as well. Mount Kilimanjaro is a beautiful mountain to view. You do not need to climb it to see its beauty. Moshi offers wonderful views as well. There is just so much to say about the 8 days I spent here. I cannot wait to return and explore more of this wonderful country.
