so many animals, so many nature
In addition to a guided game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, we did self-catered safaris in our own Land Cruiser to Ruaha and Serengeti. (My daughter and son-in-law were living in Iringa.) We did two guided walking safaris and a night game drive. The beauty and ease of finding the mammals, birds, etc. were exceptional. I recommend The Hilltop Lodge at Ruaha and the Ikoma Tented Camp at the west border of the Serengeti NP (but don't expect great food at the latter). We also enjoyed staying in the rustic bandas in Ruaha NP. We were almost the only visitors in the whole park. Next time we'll have to visit Lake Manyara and Tarangire at the least, as well as returning to Ngorongoro Crater.

Tanzania is where you can live "The Safari", so many different landscapes. From the Lake Manyara to the Serengeti, through Ngorongoro...absolutely number 1!

People of Tanzania are really helpful and friendly. All the staff we met were really hard working. Wildlife and scenery are like heaven. It is a really different experience and a memorable country.

Tanzania is an amazing country with very kind people and you feel generally safe out there, so much to see and do and the scenery is spectacular. really miss it and 10 days was not enough to split between there and Zanzibar. would definitely go back again.

I would highly recommend Tanzania as a safari destination. We traveled through both Kenya and Tanzania on our safari, and both countries had amazing things to experience and see during our trip.
Our overall experience in Tanzania was incredible. We stayed in 3 different lodges (all part of the Sopa chain). The accommodations at all 3 locations were excellent. Our transportation was great - we used Grumeti Expeditions in Tanzania, and our driver was excellent, and had extensive knowledge of the country, parks, and wildlife. We never had a question not answered to our satisfaction.
The wildlife was incredible - we saw so much more than just the "Big 5" (Cape Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Lion, Leopard), and the variety of terrain (from the vastness of the Serengeti plains to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater) made it even more amazing. We were very pleasantly surprised at the overall variety of birds that we saw, and the beautiful colors in them.
About the only negative (and this is not major in any way) was that toward the end of our trip, the food was beginning to get a bit predictable and boring - the types of lodges and camps we stayed in pretty much served similar meals, and it was hard to find much variety. But overall the food was very good, so that is just a very minor complaint in what proved to be probably the best trip I have ever been on.

I don't have any other safari experiences to compare as this was my first visit to Tanzania. But with so many wildlife parks in the country, I would definitely recommend Tanzania as a safari destination. The guides and local people are friendly and helpful.
