Beautiful landscape and plentiful wildlife (if you look at the right places)

In general we were very happy with our cross-country safari tour. All Africa Safari-locations are fantastic, clean and almost luxurious, even if you have only booked "budget tents". The staff is incredible everywhere and will read every wish of your lips.

Something to watch for Serengeti NP: Always check where the Great Migration approx. is in your visiting month because there is a chance that you won't see a lot of wildlife if you are in the wrong part of the park.

Warm friendly people with diverse and grand landscapes.

Our travel through Tanzania was a fantastic adventure. We had a 6 night/7 day all inclusive Safari with Airport Transfers from and back to Kilimanjaro Airport. Even before we landed our communications with our tour company (Serengeti Wakanda Tours & Safaris) were detailed, clear, and prompt with responses to any of our questions.
The people everywhere were friendly and welcoming. We always felt safe and enjoyed taking in the local food and culture. The national parks, conservation areas are well looked after and our guide (Benjii) always had our safety and the safety of the wildlife first and foremost at all times.
We were astounded at the amount of wildlife we saw each and every day. Even if we saw similar animals, elephants for example- and we saw them every day, each time we saw them the setting was completely different and changed the experience entirely, in a very good way. This was the case for so much of the wildlife... if our jaws were not dropping from the wildlife itself then they were dropping from the pure natural beauty of the landscape.
We had great weather with only a few intermittent rain storms that for the most part we watched pass far off in the distance with the occasional light rain shower on two of the seven days of our trip. Our safari took us from Arusha to the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, past the Ngorngoro Crater on our way to the Serengeti National Park, and then ended with a night camping on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and final game drive throughout the Ngorongoro Caldera and Conservation Area itself.
One bit of advice to consider would be avoiding either the drive from Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park or the return drive from Serengeti National Park back to Ngrongoro Conservation Area. While the scenery is stunning and there is wildlife along the way, the road is brutally bumpy. It is primarily a dirt road and a non-stop teeth chattering onslaught for several hours (around four hours). My strong recommendation would be to undertake the drive one way so as to be able to take in the scenery and wildlife (especially if the Great Migration is moving through that area in late February through March, which it was during our travels), but then book a flight from Serengeti back to Ngrongoro, or Arusha, or wherever the next destination might be.
Having said that, it would be a mistake of epic proportions to pass up a Tanzanian Safari simply because of the bumpy conditions along that stretch of road.
All said, the experience was life changing and we fully intend on returning to Tanzania in the coming years.

Jambo Bwana!
The opportunity to travel to Tanzania came out of the blue for me, but as I dove into the Lonely Planet Guide, I was captivated and excited for my upcoming trip. I researched a lot about the types of safaris and tried to find one that would fit my itinerary which was already packed with various business meetings. I used this site to narrow down my decision and received a WhatsApp message from each of them. I was able to easily communicate and compare/contrast my proposal and finally chose one that was in the middle of the road for me. Meru Slopes. I got really lucky and had a private tour (myself and my colleague) because others on the group had decided to go to a different park. What an experience!

The people of Tanzania are extremely warm and welcoming. I visited a school, a Maasai village, a medical clinic and a mosque! I was warmly welcomed everywhere I went. I am south Asian, so I felt very similar vibes to visiting my own extended family. My group stayed at a new lodge called The Safari House, which was on the Kilimanjaro Golf & Wildlife Estate. There were zebras roaming around the property! The food at the hotel/lodge was incredible. Coffee was just addictive! I ran the Kili half marathon which was a really fun experience, to run a challenging race with thousands of locals. It was a party on the pavement! I also stayed a couple nights at the Gran Melia - WOW what a gem. Just gorgeous.

I will definitely be back to Tanzania. Something about this country, be it that it was never colonized, it's President is a Muslim woman, or that it is a true collectivist society is very captivating. Jambo Bwana!

For us it was only 2 days and 1 night package and this was amazing! Our guide Michael was so passionate about his job and animal… he was so caring! And we got so lucky to meet some Lions, crocodiles and 1 leopard. My 5 years old son could not dream about a better safari. Seing animals in there natural environment and life. Elephants, Girafes, Antelopes, Gnu, Birds, Monkeys… Mikumi is Amazing and worth it to drive 7 hours to get there… Michael again millions thanks to make our dream come true. I will never forget this moment. Magalie

That is an amazing country. Beatifil landscape, lots of animal, nice beach, and the best: friendly and happy people, enjoying the life with the hakuna matata concept.

Safari was amazing, we took a lot of photos, we saw lions, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, buffalo's, Thompson gazelles, a lot of birds and much much more. Makundi is a very good driver and knows a lot about the animals living in the savanna. Don't think, just do it, you will love it!!
