Serengeti experience
Overall rating
4/5

We went in the dry season and roads were very dusty and rough. Our guide, Gamma, went over the top for us and we saw all the animals we had on our must see list. Accommodations were a little rustic compared to our experience in South Africa but very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Serengeti and Ngorogoro are just two incredible places to see. This trip was definitely an experience to remember. We unfortunately did not see the Wildebeest Migration as we hoped but The Serengeti did not disappoint. The weather was good, warm and dry but can get chilly in the evenings or early mornings so a jumper or windbreaker is recommended. You are in the jeep for most of the day but you still get to experience the parks. We drove through villages and towns so also got to see parts of Tanzania (outside of the national parks). We visited Massai Village, I’m glad I did it but would not necessarily recommend. It felt too forced and they tried to charge us around $150 USD for a handmade bowl and handcraft mask which seemed crazy. Other than that, Tanzania seemed safe overall, people are constantly offering taxis and tours when walking around but nothing violent or unsafe. My favourite part was just being out in nature in the parks.

Fantastic safari experience, with much variety. Places like Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire offer different experiences and are all worth a visit. The people are all friendly and welcoming. Just a lovely place.

Family safari lifetime experience

5/5

Landing with a view of the Kilimanjaro started our magical adventure off just right. From there we experienced Arusha for a night and then flew off to the Northern Serengeti where our journey really started with a welcome from our wonderful guides. We went on safari through the Serengeti all the way down to the Ngorongoro Crater and back to Arusha. we saw all BIG5 and so many more beautiful and wild or exotic animals. it is too much too specify. but highlights were certainly watching lions hunt and attack a wildebeast, watch a leopard and cheetah and coming so close to elephants, giraffes, water buffaloes as well as seeing a black cobra in attack posture, and a rock python in a struggle with marabu storcks. An unforgetttable experience made even better through ourtour guides from Serengeti Mystery Adventures.

A once in a lifetime experience
Overall rating
4/5

We had booked the safari trip as our son was going to be in Uganda first work.
First time my husband returned saying this trip was the best holiday.
Seeing so many animals in their natural surroundings was worth it.
However it was very disappointing not to see wildebeest crossing the mara River.
Wish we were advised to spend extra night in same place to be able to see animals fresh in the morning rather than later in afternoon when they were just sleeping under trees.
Accom in most places were good. Except for hhando lodge, where we found the helpers keen on getting tips fighting over each other to carry bags.
Gives a very uncomfortable awkwardness. Most places had tip boxes so it was easier to deal with them.
Lunch packs need some improvements esp for vegetarians. Having plain rice is not palatable meal. Needs to be either paired with some vegetables or fried vegetables rice.
Nyoto had excellent lunch packages with nuts and fruit etc.when requested it worked out OK. Best to let guests decide what they prefer.
Overall great experience with Zach. He is knowledgeable on birds and animals. Would have loved to hear more about animals and their habitats, as well as more on the changing landscapes in central serengeti.

Mt Meru Hike: An amazing and reasonably challenging experience
Overall rating
5/5

Visiting Tanzania and climbing Mt Meru was an amazing experience and one of the highlights of my summer. Our trek was booked through Travel Africa, and our guide, Emanuel and his crew of porters did a great job, and even did some quick on the fly adjustments to ensure we had the right gear. The key to succeeding in Meru is preparation and knowing you physical ability. Our group was young and fit, so we completed the hike in 3 days. However, for most group who may be older, summiting is definitely achievable, but much easier under the 4 day program. Definitely achievable for most adjust, and the view of Kilimanjaro makes it all worth it!!
