less animals then serengetti .. so if you are doing northern circuit serengetti is a better option .. but here huge herds of elephants ( we spotted a group of about 40) are spotted which i doubt is spotted anywhere else.. giraffes leopards can also be seen .. it can be a prelude to serengetti and ngorongoro but ceratinly not worth after it

Famous for its tree-climbing lions, I only saw them on the ground. This is where I saw my first-ever leopard which was quite a thrill! Accommodations and food at Tarangire Sopa Lodge was great. Lodge was

Amazing... everyone should visit this place.

I had read that November was not the best time to visit most parks in Tanzania but was pleasantly surprised. I saw pretty much every animal i had been told I could see at this park in reasonable numbers. The weather was dry and sunny with a cool breeze during drives. The guide was amazing, the staff at the company Sandland Tours were an example in superuior customer service even in the most basic conditions and I wished I could be on safari forever.

A splendid park with an abundance of wild animals you can see from very near!

You'll find all kind of wild animals in Tarangire: not just some of them, but an abundance! We've seen the big five and many more. I was very impressed when I saw the lions (incl. the corpse of a water buffalo a lion had been eating), baobab trees with vultures, a cheetah, elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, dikdiks, hornbills, ostriches, monkeys, etc.

Great Place For Wildlife
Overall rating

What makes Tarangire special is your guaranteed to see lots of wildlife. More then enough elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, monkeys, and more. When I visited in October was just past the rainy season and the weather was perfect. The rugged terrain there seems to help contain the animals to the park. The dirt roads are also well placed taking you near great watering holes and the road. The park also has great facilities at the entrance and lunch service was available. The park was not crowded but did have a steady stream of groups coming and going.

Park is near Arusha. Beautiful park that is a must for Elephant lovers. Some times of the year are better than others for viewing. Abundance of Baobab trees is a wonderful sight.

probably my favourite one, relatively small and not as crowded as Serengeti or Ngorongoro. mostly famous for the elephants, but we have seen there much more, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, just to name a few.
