This means that you’re in for a very private, immaculately planned experience. Perfect for a honeymoon. Visitor volumes are deliberately kept low in Botswana, so every adventure and wildlife encounter feels unique and special. You won’t be queueing to catch a glimpse of a predator or to get to the breakfast buffet. This sets the scene for an idyllic bush escape. With a lot of planning leading up to the big day, a wedding can be quite a stressful event. A honeymoon should be the time to focus on each other in a peaceful setting. Being in nature will feel like a breath of fresh air. It’s easy to find romance in the African bush. Think of drinking a cup of coffee with the chorus of birds at dawn, or watching a herd of elephant drinking at a waterhole. Perhaps sharing sundowner drinks on a hilltop overlooking the savannah plains, or sitting around a campfire at night, then snuggling up under canvas while listening to a hyena whooping in the distance. “Although there is no ideal length for a honeymoon safari in Botswana, I think you should be away for at least 10 days. Longer is obviously better. If you’re traveling from afar, you’ll want to make the long journey worthwhile. And a honeymoon is a special kind of holiday, so you won’t want to rush it. If you are planning to spend the full duration of your holiday on safari, I would recommend you choose a 10- to 14-day itinerary. That is a very nice amount of time to really immerse yourself in the safari vibe. You’ll have plenty of time to see the highlights without moving around too quickly. If you intend to add another component to your tour, for instance time on the beach or in Cape Town, I would say five to seven days would be a reasonable length for a Botswana safari. However long you choose to stay in Botswana, the main thing to keep in mind is to try to not cram too much into your schedule. Rather spend quality time in a few locations.”

“Botswana is filled with romantic places, and you can’t go wrong with a honeymoon safari here. Wherever you go, you’ll find serenity and raw beauty in remote wilderness areas, some of which we recommend below. The Okavango is perfect for honeymoon safari tours. Gliding in a mokoro (wooden dugout canoe) through the wondrous waterways of the Delta is a unique experience. There is no shortage of wildlife either. Chobe National Park is another great destination for honeymooning couples. A boat trip on the Chobe River is guaranteed to get you up close to drinking elephants, and they might even cross the river in front of you. It’s a short hop from Chobe to visit Victoria Falls (Vic Falls), whether you stay in Zambia or Zimbabwe, or on a private island in the middle of the Zambezi River, between the two.
