The area is globally famous for its exceptional population of Maasai lion, African leopard and Tanzanian cheetah, as well as the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest. This migration takes the animals to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October. The spectacular site is commonly known as “The Great Migration”.
