Tsavo West is known for its Red Elephants and holds the legend of Tsavo man eaters- two lions accused of killing and eating around 135 men in Kenya in 1898. Sarova Salt Lick is situated in the midst of Taita hills sanctuary a private sanctuary of 28,000 acres bordering Tsavo West National Park. Sarova Salt Lick is built on a high stilts above a waterhole and pastures where animals come to eat and drink water, giving the guest a chance to see them close.
