At the beginning of July, the wildebeest migration and Mara River crossing move north and pass through the Lobo and the Wagakuria areas to the Masai Mara National Reserve. In September, the herds are spread out over the Northern Serengeti National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve. Several large herds of wildebeest remain behind in the area, and weather changes may sometimes bring the herds back into the area. In October, the herds move south towards the Central Serengeti National Park.
