The Masai Mara National Reserve is a popular tourist destination in Kenya, Africa. It is located in the Great Rift Valley and consists mainly of open grassland. Every year, over 1.5 million wildebeest migrate to the reserve, arriving in July and departing in November. The reserve is home to about 95 species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, as well as over 400 species of birds. Visitors to the reserve almost always have the chance to see the Big Five.
