Welcome to Tanzania! Thanks for choosing Alpine Chat Adventure. Mt. Meru. the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, is located to the east of Arusha town, about a 20km drive from Arusha. The mountain stands at an altitude of 4,566m above sea level inside the Arusha National Park. Mt. Meru has 1 route to the top and can be attempted in 3 days, but we highly recommend doing it in 4 days for acclimatization. Most alpines use Mt. Meru for acclimatization before their Kilimanjaro climb.
