The main attraction in Mikumi National Park is a game drive and watching hippos wallowing and snorting at close range at the hippo pool. The landscape of Mikumi provides a serene wildlife experience with commonly seen animals, like elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, wildebeest, eland, crocodiles, and baboons. If you are lucky, you will see lions and if you are very lucky, a leopard. Over 300 bird species, such as the saddle-billed stork, hammerkop, and malachite kingfisher, call Mikumi home.
