Climbing Mt. Meru is usually skipped in favor of its bigger neighbor to the west, Mt. Kilimanjaro, but the sheer beauty and challenge of this four-day climb make it a must-do. The early parts of the trail pass through lush rainforests of fig trees and colobus monkeys high up in the canopy. This is the best safari that takes you to Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, as well as to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro via the Machame Route. There is the option to visit Mt. Ol Doinyo Lengai.
