Mount Kenya, Africa's second-highest mountain after Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, is a 3.5-million-year-old extinct volcano on the equator. This Naro Moru route 3-day trek to Point Lenana (4985m), the third-highest mountain, is the shortest and steepest path up and down. Hikers pass bamboo forests, alpine moors, mountain rainforests, and huge heather, groundsel, and lobelia over 3300m. You will hike up the Teleki Valley to Point Lenana in time to see a breathtaking sunrise over Kenya's highest peak.
