Day hike to Kilimanjaro, Is it possible to one day hike Kilimanjaro? Yes, the day hike to Kilimanjaro takes you up to Mandara Hut and back to the entrance gate. On this Mount Kilimanjaro day hike, you will hike up the Marangu Route to Mandara Hut for lunch. You will NOT reach the top. All short treks are offered on a private basis and can be started any day of the year. Marangu is home to black-and-white colobus monkeys living in the branches of tropical trees growing along the trail.
