Ruaha National Park is 20,226sq km. Ruaha is home to 520 bird species, 80 animal Species, 38 fish species and 1650 plant species. Animals in this park include buffalos, zebras, common and Defassa waterbucks, impalas, giraffes, Lichtenstein’s hartebeests, antelopes, Grant’s gazelles, elephants, lions, cheetah, leopards, wild dogs, spotted hyenas and jackals. Bird species include saddle-billed storks, white-headed plovers, Goliath herons, the white-backed night heron, and vultures.
