Mabamba Bay in Uganda is a prime wetland birding site famous for the shoebill, Uganda’s most sought-after bird by birding tourists and nature lovers. Mabamba Bay is located west of Entebbe on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, covering 24km² (2424ha) with thick marshes of papyrus, water lilies, and other wetland grasses. Mabamba Bay is a Ramsar site and an Important Bird Area (IBA).
