The vast Nyerere National Park is the largest park in East Africa with an area of more than 30,000 square km. It is newly established in the area formerly known as Selous Game Reserve. The park is found in the Southern circuit of the country and offers good numbers of lion, leopard, cheetah and other large animals such as elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, eland, wildebeest, zebra and other wildlife. Visitors will also enjoy the boat safari excursions on the Rufiji River.
