The ascent of the Machame Route is typically undertaken over a maximum of seven days to optimize acclimatization. However, it is also feasible to complete the climb in a minimum of six days (five nights). Often referred to as the Whiskey route, the Machame route is renowned for its challenging nature compared to the more straightforward Marangu route, affectionately known as the Coca-Cola route.
