Previously known as the Selous Game Reserve, Nyerere National Park provides shelter for a large number of elephants, lions, and big populations of buffaloes, wild dogs, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses Rufiji River also has a lot of bird life. The reserve is named after the one of famous British. But nowadays Selous Game Reserves is called Nyerere National Park.
