Located in the northern part of the country, the park is known for its dramatic scenery, including jagged mountain peaks, deep valleys, and sheer cliffs that drop as much as 1,500 meters. The park is home to several endemic species, including the Ethiopian wolf, the Walia ibex, and the Gelada baboon.
