The lush forest reserve has over 500 tree species and shrubs, and over 200 bird species. Common birds to watch include, hornbill, spotted greenbull, black and white casqued, African pied hornbills, Uganda woodland warbler, great blue turaco and the ross turaco. Also look out for the bushbuck, red-tailed monkey and flying squirrels. There is also an abundance of butterfly species.
