While it is possible to complete the Umbwe Route in just five days, this timeframe is too brief for proper acclimatization. The Umbwe Route is the most demanding and steepest path to the summit of Kilimanjaro, featuring a rapid ascent through the rainforest during the first two days. These challenging conditions contribute to a higher risk of altitude sickness, resulting in the route having the lowest summit success rate.
