2 travelers on Start dateMore than two million migratory animals consisting of various wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle species travel in a clockwise direction. On the plains, wildebeest and zebra often give birth to their young, peaking between late December and early April. This creates an amazing natural show and fascinating predatory hunting activities. On the short grass plains, the wildebeest continue to mature well into April, gaining strength for the lengthy journey northward after the rains and the fresh pastures.
