Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda covering up to 4000 sq kms. It derives its name from the Murchison falls. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down into a calm river whose banks are thronged with hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks, and buffaloes. The Park has 76 animal species and over 450 bird species. Wildlife includes the big four like lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests and many more.
