The Ngorongoro Crater, situated within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and international biosphere reserve. The crater is the largest intact caldera globally and the second-largest inactive volcano. This crater was once an active volcano around eight million years ago, but its cone collapsed, forming the immense crater we admire today. The crater's rim is adorned with mountain forest vegetation and hosts diverse animal species.
