Lake Nakuru is famous for its over a million flamingos (Greater and Lesser), over 450 migratory birds species, large flotillas of pelicans and other water birds, the park provides for about 56 different species of mammals and Masai Mara is most famous for its spectacular annual migration of over a million wildebeest, gazelle, antelope, zebra, giraffe and elephants from Serengeti crossing the Mara River in Kenya in search of green pastures. This usually occurs between July and October.
