Wildlife: awesome! For Bwindi, mostly, of course, although I can imagine someone interested in birds could have fun in Kabale. I plan to go back there some day for other parks, to see the 'big five', as I didn't get a chance to do a 'regular safari' last time.
Scenic beauty: equally awesome! I wish I could have gone deeper into the forest, but that was up to the gorillas, not me ;) Lake Bunyonyi is also a place not to be missed - I took a 3 day trip in dugout canoes there, and the place as green as Holland. Forget the dust-filled footage you often see on TV... visit the rolling green hills in southern Uganda!
Bush vibe: travelling in a dugout canoe, a muddy motor ride, tracking gorill'as - yeah, there is certainly a bush vibe - even though both the canoe trekking and the gorilla tracking were basically very organised. It's not as if you're alone out there, but you won't be queueing to climb the volcano (another one for the to-do list!) either.

I was not disappointed in experiencing the wildlife and other animals, as well as the scenery of Uganda! My Nikon experienced over 1800 'clicks'! The photography was phenomenal!

The Country is so lush and green and is packed full of wildlife wherever you look. The rolling hills and mountain scenery is stunning to wake up to, it's not over crowded and the lodges are all small taking on only a handful of guests at a time. There are birds galore even just in the hotels surrounding gardens and numerous other reptile, butterfly and primate species just doing what it does everyday and you get a real feel of nature and serenity.

Uganda is a particular safari destination: if you're looking for the big five this isn't the best place to go. On the other hand Uganda offered me a diversity of experiences, nature and wildlife that few other countries in the world can offer in my opinion.
You can have a typical safari trip in either Murchinson Falls NP or Queen Elizabeth NP, but I much more preferred the trekking on the wild Rwenzori mountains (my favourite place in Uganda), where in one day you can go from rainforest, to bamboo forest, to alpine vegetation. Kibale offers more rainforest with monkeys, chimps, butterflies, insects and plenty of birds. Bwindi is a world premiere destination to track the gorillas, a truly amazing experience that I HIGHLY reccomend to anybody. I went also to Mgahinga NP to track the golden monkeys: another underrated experience. The track at the foot of the Virunga mountains is beautiful and the monkeys are very cute and funny to watch.
In Jinja the adrenaline activities like rafting the Nile rapids was exhilarating, but there are many more to do.
And after all this, when I needed to chill out from these emotions, I headed to the shores of Lake Bunyonyi to dip into its waters and have an easy paddle with a canoe doing some islands hopping.
For these reasons I highly recommend Uganda as a destination for nature lovers.

Uganda is gifted with a lot of wild life species, many mountain ranges and rivers and most parks have dirt roads making for a good bush vibe. The birding experience is also awesome because of the variety of birds species.

Uganda is a small country with a lot of variety to discover (landscapes, wildlife, vegetation, cultures), while distances are small; most places can be reached within a day. Tourism is only developping, you can find peace, tranquility and adventure. Some nice lodges in different price ranges offer basic or upmarket accommodation. Uganda is a safe country and can be travelled individually. The climate is pleasant, not too hot. People are extremely friendly and welcoming in general.

Because Uganda still offer Mt. Elgon and Mt. Rwenzori National Parks. These are amazing parks with incredible wildlife and landscapes. All in all, the Ugandan parks are less overcrowded compared to Kenyan and Tanzanian parks.
