Unspoiled by mass tourism
Uganda is one of the countries where you can still experience the true meaning of exploring. There are not many tourists even in the height of peak season and for this reason it is still very unspoiled.
We firstly visited Lake Mburo NP- the only park with zebras. They are in the process of introducing giraffes into the park, which means you are walking among them during bush walks. Spectacular.
The next was Queen Elizabeth NP, which was kind of disappointing as there was scarcity of animals. We did se a leopard and a few lions but from afar- we could barely make them out. You can hire a ranger for lion spotting which grants you the possibility to see them up close (which costs around 150 USD per person), something we found quite expensive . Its possible we were there at the wrong time of the year.
However, the boat ride on Kazinga channel was a rollercoaster of wildlife and interesting facts, so definitely worth it.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the gorilla tracking that delivered an experience above expectations.
The people were warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and portions more than sufficient (we always asked for less food). Uganda will always have a special place in our hearts.
We would also like to thank the agency Out of Africa for providing us with and express itinerary for our trip, and especially to our guide Arafat, that took us on this adventure of a lifetime. Do not be afraid to visit, you will be surprised by how safe and easy traveling is in the pearl of Africa.

A jewel
National parks in Uganda have much more life than 10 years ago in my previous visit. Not many visitors, so you can enjoy the nature without seeming to be in a zoo.
Accommodations were perfect and also the food.
The only point is the roads. Better than 10 years ago, however you cannot avoid the African Massage.

Unforgettable!
My husband and I returned a few days ago from a tour to Uganda planned by the local tour operator "Home to Africa". The 12-day tour was well organised and allowed us to visit several National Parks and to see a lot of animals and to learn about different environments as well as customs and traditions of some local communities. Everything was perfectly organised: the accommodations, the permits, the food (delicious), the guided tours and the time spent for each visit. The highlight of the tour, the most expected moment, was the Gorilla trekking...an exciting moment that turned out to be beyond all our great expectations.
It was very nice to meet local people, to be guided by the Park’s rangers to spotting animals. We were pleasantly surprised to see how much passion and dedication these people welcomed us and made us discovering the wonders of this country.
The Ugandan population is always smiling and friendly: the children smiling when you greet them in the street and the songs and dances of the women we met during the tour were unforgettable moments.
A special thank goes to Patrick, our driver and guide. Patrick contributed greatly to our wonderful stay: a lovely person, punctual and always ready to tell about his country.
Thanks to his explanations and experience gained over the years, we were able to see the 'big 5' and discover many other animals... including the leopard, which is usually very difficult to spot. We also really appreciated Patrick as a skilled driver: we always felt safe during the tour. Thank you Patrick for making these days a very special holiday, a magnificent tour that we will never forget!

Beautiful country with diverse scenery and wildlife
We absolutely loved our trip in Uganda. We spent 14 days on a round trip and experienced many different landscapes and saw many interesting animals. The beautiful mountains with rainforest and tea plantations was a lovely contrast to the savannah and forest national parks. A highlight of course was seeing the mountain gorillas & chimpanzees. The people of Uganda were always friendly & welcoming and showed amazing hospitality. We always felt very safe. We traveled with Home to Africa and had the best experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Breathtaking
Brian was the absolute best tour guide ever! Seeing as it was my first time in Uganda, let alone Africa as a whole, Brian was more than happy to indulge me by explaining various facts historical events to me.
Queen Elizabeth NP was by far one of the most scenic and godly parks I’ve ever been to. The rolling planes and lush greenery gave way to herds of Buffalo, a pride of lions, and a fairly new (based on side) herd of elephants.
As well, he also went above and beyond to ensure I saw the big cats, as I mentioned that has been a dream of mine.
Aside from that, I got to experience chimp trekking, and see and feel the power eminating from the alpha chimps, as we viewed their hierarchy.
From Queen Elizabeth, Brian took me to Mpigi, where I toured a sanctuary.
After my short stay in Mpigi, I got to experience the Nile in Jinja.
Uganda was fortunately my home for 5 weeks, while I was on internship. The people, food, and sense of community is something I am definitely missing.
When I return to Africa, I definitely will be stopping by and paying Ngege Kufurahi Safaris another visit, to perhaps see Murchison Falls or Mburro NP!
Be sure to book through them as they are very accommodating to student budgets, and go above and beyond to make the experience unforgettable.

Enjoying Nature in Uganda
My guide Herman was excellent. He took good care of me throughout the one-week safari that I signed up for. He amazed me with his knowledge of birds even though I wasn't on a birding trip. He was an excellent and safe driver as well.
I was able to see many types of large and small animals throughout the week, including elephants, various types of monkeys, lions, and all types of antelopes. For me personally, the highlight was seeing the chimpanzees and the gorillas up close. It truly is an awe-inspiring experience that is difficult to put into words.
One last thing - the lodges were amazing and much better than I expected. They were truly top-notch, with picturesque views.
Overall, Tubale Safari company gave me an unforgettable experience that will last a lifetime.

Amazing wildlife, beautiful scenery
Uganda has been wonderful. As a solo female traveler, I have felt nothing but safe here. The wildlife atvthe national parks is incredible- I’ve seen a shoebill stork, baboons, many different antelope, many many elephants, giraffes, lions, warthogs, buffalo and best of all, mountain gorillas. It was the trip of a lifetime, an amazing amount of animals in a relatively small country. I loved Ugandan food (lots of veg and vegan options) and the people have been great. Highly recommend.
