Greater Kruger Park
We will depart Johannesburg as we make our way to the Greater Kruger National Park where our safari adventure begins. After travelling through the Highveld farmlands, we'll descend the Drakensberg Escarpment and into the Lowveld, home to some of the most pristine private game reserves in South Africa and the world-renowned Kruger National Park. We will arrive at Thornhill Safari Lodge in time for a delicious lunch.
After some relaxation time, we will venture out on a late afternoon/evening Big Five game drive in open 4x4 vehicles in one of the neighbouring private reserves. We'll take a break for sundowner drinks at one of the waterholes en-route enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of the African bushveld before continuing our game drive into the night.

Have an early rise as you are greeted by your guide and enjoy coffee and rusks before embarking on a day of exploration in the celebrated Kruger National Park. Its rich history dates back to 1898, and its goal has always been to protect the wildlife of South Africa. Today, this national treasure offers two million hectares of the unspoiled African bushveld. Kruger remains home to an impressive number of species ranging from 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 517 birds, and 146 mammals. Look forward to a safari experience that unfolds from the moment you enter Kruger Park, and explore the best game drive routes the Park has to offer.
We will return to the comforts of Thornhill Safari Lodge and enjoy yet another taste of traditional African cuisine before retiring to the peaceful sounds of the African night. Our game drive takes us through varied topography with an amazing variety of wildlife, birds, plants, and trees.

This is your leisure day. You can soak in the African sun, relax at the lodge and sip cocktails around our inviting swimming pool or partake in any of our numerous and exciting optional activities on offer. Take a Big Five open vehicle game drive or visit a local animal rehabilitation centre. Alternatively, you can simply spend the day reading under the shade of our famous Marula trees.
After a day spent relaxing in the distinct African ambience of the lodge, you can look forward to enjoying the delicious African dishes prepared by our chefs.

Kruger National Park
After an early wake-up call, you'll head back to Kruger Park and enjoy another full day on an open 4x4 safari. This is the perfect opportunity to explore other prime game drive routes and to spot the animals you may have missed on your previous game drives.
After an insightful afternoon, we'll make the trek back to Thornhill in the late afternoon in time to freshen up before enjoying some delicious bushveld cooking.

Leisure
Today is another leisure day and you have the opportunity to simply relax at the lodge or partake in some of the optional activities that you have missed so far. After an enjoyable day, it is time to take in the sounds of the African night around the campfire whilst enjoying dinner in the Boma and watching the night skies.

Morning Bush Walk & Blyde River Canyon En-Route to Johannesburg
Have an early rise as we head off on a game walk exploring the reserve on foot. Our qualified field guides will share their passion with you as you learn some fascinating facts about the environment and its inhabitants that surround you.
After a tasty breakfast, we'll bid you farewell as you depart on the next leg of your journey returning to Johannesburg. Ascending the majestic Drakensberg Escarpment, we'll stop to view the amazing Blyde River Canyon and Three Rondawels.
Please don't book any international flights until after 10:00 pm this evening.
