A decision that u won’t go wrong
5/5

I booked my trip a year in advance but was lazy and unprepared with the arrangements. As the flight date approached, I researched and learned that a Tanzania safari isn’t possible without a tour or guide. I did a deep search for travel agents in my home country and online, comparing at least six operators. At the last minute, I chose Meru Slope, and I’m so lucky I picked the right one! My partner and I enjoyed every moment of our tour. Our driver, Patrick, took care of us like family. The arrangements were flawless—meals (including my lunch with white wine), transportation, and accommodations were perfect. I felt incredibly grateful by the end of the trip. Having traveled to over 40 countries, this was one of my best experiences. When I got home, my local travel agent even asked for more details about the trip, as they hadn’t heard of such a great experience before. If you come across this post, trust me—book with Meru Slope, and you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

Amazing budget-friendly adventure
5/5

My sister and I went on a 6-day joining safari with Meru Slopes & Tours back in October, and it was an amazing adventure. We chose the “6 day wildebeest migration” package and yes, we got to see two river crossings! All in all we experienced many beautiful and awe-inspiring sightings across Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. By the end, we all wished we had been able to spend more time in the safari. In addition, the group we were assigned with was great and it’s one of the reasons both of us enjoyed the safari so much.

Meru Slopes provides great attention the moment you contact them. I first contacted them through their email form, and got into contact with Jerome, who was very helpful in booking the safari and even offered us a small discount. The payment process was very easy, and if you happen to be in Tanzania a few weeks before the safari (say, for Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro) you can even deposit the advance fee in person at a local NMB branch, saving you some transfer fees. Jerome also helped us coordinate an additional stay at the hotel and the airport transfer, which was very useful. The moment you arrive in Arusha you are in Meru Slopes’ care, which I really appreciated.

Stanley, our driver and guide, accompanied us all days. He is a very skilled driver and has a great eye for positioning and anticipating where animals where approach. He helped us achieve some really great sightings of lions and cheetahs which where one of the many highlights of our safari. He is also very knowledgeable and friendly, and was always on time to depart very early in the morning to make the most of our days. Our cook, Johannes, always provided very bountiful and delicious meals, and he was always in a great mood. I personally noticed some similarities with my home country’s cooking so I enjoyed the food a lot.

The accommodations where quite good considering the budget. The tents in the camp sites are more comfortable than I expected, and at Serengeti you get to spend the night surrounded by nature and hearing animals nearby, under a beautiful starry sky, which is simply unforgettable. Though the weather was not very kind to us that week, with some rainy days, Meru Slopes still did their best to accommodate for it. We also did not manage to spot leopards or rhinos, but after everything else we saw, I really can’t complain.

In summary, an amazing adventure, highly recommended, and at a great price.

Very carefully planned trip for the visitors

really good arrangement and guide. Our guide Robert is the best guide, he knows well about the landscape, animals and culture, always be able to find what we want. The place is beautiful and hotel is nice, a trip over expectations.

Amazing safari
5/5

We have just returned from a 6 day safari with Meru slopes, we went with the company due to their good reviews and it did not disappoint , from booking to the safari itself the experience and service was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgable and addressed any concerns immediately- we were able to see everything apart from a leopard (not without the guide trying, nobody else saw one either) including lions hunting , our chef was amazing and the food was great. The alcohol included was also a great touch as many other budget safaris didn’t have this. Overall myself and my mate would 100% recommend this company if you are looking for a good safari.

Five star experience with Meru Slopes!
5/5

An absolute five star experience with Meru Slopes!

We chose a 6 days Safari, we spent two nights in Fanaka Lodge and 3 nights camping.
We visited Tarangire, Serengueti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara.

Jerome was our travel consultant, contact with him was very easy and replied kindly and quickly to all of my questions (that were many!). It was definitely one of the things that made me choose Meru Slopes.

Everything went just as expected and explained in the brochure.
They picked us up from the airport (with a nice car with courtesy coca cola and water) and took us to the hotel, which is fine for the night previous and after the safari. It has AC and a diner with meal included. They saved our big luggage during the safari.

The safari van was great, a Toyota Land Cruiser in perfect condition, with a cooler to keep water, coca cola and beer in the perfect temp. We could also charge our phones, camera and torches just fine, and we had wifi all the way!

Our guide was Florian, he was excellent! Very well experienced, he knew where it was most likely to find the animals. He got us to see lions hunting, three times!! He was a very skilled driver, the roads are not in great condition and since we went in rainy season it got pretty muddy, but that was not a problem! He also gave us explanations about animals, their behavior and about flora too!

Food was another highlight in this trip, while other companies get plain lunch boxes, our chef Dulla spoiled us with home made food! Every afternoon he made fresh bread for dinner, he also gave us some popcorn to accompany the sunset until it was dinner time.
We were supplied with bottled water, got every amount we wanted and also coca cola and beers.

The camping experience was amazing, going to sleep hearing the animals around is something very unique and one of a kind experience! We heard how wild animals fed just next to our tent, so if you are adventurous, I recommend to camp! But there are options with lodges too if you are not up to it. If you are going in rainy season like us, rain is expected. We had two nights with heavy rains, while we saw how other companies got soaked, our tents allowed us to stay perfectly dry! Everything worked fine. And at simba camp there was even hot water to shower.

We saw the big five! It depends on luck mostly and a bit of patience too, leopards are hard to spot, we only got see one once. We also saw many other animals like hippos, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, elephants, tortoises, monkeys, lots of birds, and different kind of antelopes (and learn to recognize them!) Big highlight was the big migration! Weren’t expecting to seeing it because of the season but we got lucky!

I highly recommend to hire Meru Slopes. It is a local company, I think it is important to support local business. And also, for what I have seen, they provide the best price - quality relation.
Hopefully will have the chance to come back! Thanks for everything!
