A dream come true for us, amazing gorilla trek and trip around Uganda & Rwanda
We booked a 4-day tour with Bamboo Ecotours with the following itinerary: Kigali-Lake Kivu-Gorilla Trek @ Bwindi-Kisoro Coffee Tour. It was a big group of 7 of us, and we are really satisfied with the company and its staffs and definitely recommend booking a similar experience with them. Our guide/driver was Fred and he's been super kind and informative. The hotels that we are staying too have been incredible, and the highlight is our 2-night stay with Gorilla Leisure Lodge: super attentive and friendly staffs, and the warmer on the bed just really made our day.
Excellent Gorilla and chimp trekking tour
A fantastic 4 day trip with Bamboo Ecotours with gorilla and chimp trekking! Everything was so well organised with Edison quickly responding to my various options for gorilla trekking dates. Amanya was an excellent guide - very funny, engaging and clearly loves introducing us to his country. Will definitely start planning the next trip..
Everything you can asked for during your visit to Uganda-Rwanda.
Bamboo Ecotours exceeded our expectations during our tour. From the very beginning, when planning our trip, Edison responded to our emails promptly. He also showed us the different accommodation options they offer and was very helpful with the visa process, staying in constant contact via WhatsApp and email.
A week before our trip, Edison shared the name of our tour guide, which made us feel safe and prepared. Jackson, our guide, was the best we could have asked for. We arrived at Kigali airport and drove all the way to Uganda for our first stay. Along the way, Jackson pointed out many interesting insights about Kigali, and we even had a coffee stop (by the way, you have to try African coffee!).
On our second day, Jackson took us to Bwindi National Park, where we met our trekking group. One thing we loved about the gorilla trekking, besides the gorillas themselves, is that it wasn’t crowded. Groups are split between 8 to 10 people, and each group visits a different gorilla family. This way, the gorillas don’t experience too much human interaction, and the experience feels more personal. From the moment you see your first gorilla, the one-hour time limit begins. We were accompanied by the guide, two park rangers, and there’s also an option to hire someone to help carry your belongings.
After this, we went to our next hotel (which had incredible views of Lake Buyonyi) and enjoyed an amazing night.
I just want to take a moment to thank both Jackson and Edison from Bamboo Ecotours for giving us the best experience.
An unforgettable experience
Bamboo Eco Tours was really professional and organised from the start. Edison was very quick to answer ALL and many of my questions and so quickly. Being two young females in a foreign country we were nervous however he made us feel really safe and assured.
Our tour guide Herbert was amazing! Such a humble person always with a smile on his face and always happy to answer all of our questions, the guy was probably tired of our questions by the end, but we had lots of fun together. The tour was such an awesome experience. We did the 3 days Queen Elizabeth NP, chimp trekking (Kalinzu) and gorilla trekking (Mgahinga). The tour and accomodation we chose, Buffalo lodge and Lake Mutanda was incredible, we would recommend doing it in 4-5 days so you have time to relax at the accomodation, we felt we were in a little rush as there was a lot of driving to do to get from 1 park to the other not the guides fault however.
We learnt so much and had such an unforgettable experience.
Thank you Bamboo Eco Tours
Herbert was amazing
We had a amazing time and bamboo ecotours were great. Edison in the office was incredible at communication with me and at one point I changed all the dates and he did it no worries. Herbert our tour guide was wonderful informative and went out of his way for us, many times. We could not be happier with the service from bamboo ecotours. Amy Paul
