Well organized and luxurious safari experience
We had a great safari vacation with African Big Cats! They organized everything including airport pick up, all safari accommodations, and flight/accommodations/transport in Zanzibar. It made the trip feel seemless and luxurious. The only thing we had to focus on was trying to find all the animals!
Our guide, Lovoi, was also amazing. Every day, he made sure the land cruise was well stocked with drinks, set up a nice picnic for us whenever we were out in the field, and cleaned the vehicle every night so it was nice and tidy for another day of safari. This really made a difference as it can get really dusty and muddy in the Serengeti! However, the most amazing thing about him was his hawk vision. One day, he said a black dot on the horizon was a rhino. I didn't believe him until I took a picture of it on max zoom. Make sure you ask for him if you go with Big Cats as he'll make sure you see as much as possible!

Outstanding service and experience of a lifetime
My spouse and I had an amazing safari experience with African Big Cats—we can’t recommend them highly enough!
Booking and communications: Their team, starting with Joshua and Naomi, were immediately responsive to our outreach and kept up good communications leading up to the trip. They answered our questions about itinerary possibilities and tradeoffs, and easily made some customizations. Turned out to be a perfect itinerary.
Guides: Endeni was great! Kind, clear/communicative, knowledgeable, fun. We saw soooo much amazing wildlife and Endeni is a big reason why; he knew about animal behavior and which roads to take, and keenly spotted things all throughout our extensive game drives. We also felt totally safe the entire time. Another guide, Imran, joined us for a few-hour hike at Kilimanjaro the last morning. Imran was similarly great!
Value/experience: We did a “mid-luxury” trip and it felt like high luxury. The accommodations, service, were outstanding. Lake Burunge Tented Lodge and Embalakai Serengeti Camp were standouts. Another shoutout to the delicious food, especially at those two lodges.

An excellent, professional safari company.
Communication was very responsive & African Big Cats Safaris put together an itinerary that ticked all our boxes.
Our guide Obed was superb and made the trip. How he navigated his way, drove the jeep over challenging ground and spotted animals & birds all at the same time I will never know. I never knew I loved birds until I met Obed. His knowledge and the way he shared it with us was wonderful. Our jeep was spotless every morning. Stepping aboard at dawn was so exciting seeing what the day ahead held. I’d been anxious about comfort and bone shaking drives. I needn’t have worried. The jeep was so comfortable.
Toilet breaks were regular and picnic lunches delicious. Our hot meal standing outside beside the jeep was a real highlight.
Our days were long but flew by. We were up for it but if we hadn’t been then Obed would have scaled it down for us. With his expert eye we saw everything. The Big 5 the Ugly 5 and everything in between.
On the last day I mentioned I’d not seen a mongoose. Obed delivered a whole family!
We wanted a mix of accommodation styles which African Big Cats coordinated perfectly. Masai mud huts, top end lodge, tented camps and our personal favourite the temporary migration camp. Sleeping to the sound of the bush, lions and all, and waking up to elegant giraffes just outside the super comfortable tent will live long in the memory.
We would love to go again for the northern migration - with African Big Cats & Obed without hesitation.
African Big Cats Safaris is a very professional, responsive and experienced tour operator.
We started to investigate companies to go with about 8 months in advance and found that African Big cats stood out in terms of efficiency and timeliness of quotes and questions. It was a pleasure dealing with them. We selected the comfort option.
Our guide, Elias, was great - very knowledgeable, courteous and respectful of the rules of the parks. He was also helpful to other drivers. We found that he knew his animals and birds very well and could answer and expand on most questions we had. He was great at animal and bird spotting and knew how to handle the vehicle in all situations we encountered. He kept in contact with other guides to maximise our animal sightings.
The accommodation that was arranged for us was very good and met with our expectations. Elias was very flexible in terms of timing and length of drives. We elected to make the most of our timing of park entry permits etc, which made for long days of driving.
All in all a fantastic experience. We highly recommend African Big Cats Safaris.

Exceptional guide with fluent English, deep knowledge of wildlife, tribes, plants, and great driving
We did a 6-day, 5-night mid-range safari with 2 tent nights and 3 camp nights, and it was unforgettable! From pick-up to airport drop-off, our guide Khalid made us feel at ease. He was fluent in English, an excellent driver, and had deep knowledge of the wildlife, culture, landscapes, and plants. Every day we visited a new park and saw all the Big Five. The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was fantastic, and the food was amazing! Highly recommend African Big Cat Safaris for an incredible experience. 5/5!
