The best Ethiopian experience
We recently had the privilege of embarking on an 8-day tour of Northern Ethiopia with Gamel Tours. From day one, it was clear that this would be a journey like no other.
Samrawit was an extraordinary guide—knowledgeable, personable, and extremely accommodating. She tailored our schedule to meet our interests, ensuring that we could fully absorb the rich history and breathtaking landscapes of Addis, Lalibela, Bahar Dar, Gondar, and the Simien Mountains.
The highlights were plentiful. We marveled at Lalibela's rock-hewn churches, a feat of engineering that ignites the imagination. Bahar Dar enchanted us with its stunning lakes and waterfalls, while Gondar's castles transported us to a bygone era of regal splendor. Our time in the Simien Mountains was awe-inspiring, with vistas that seemed to stretch into infinity.
But what truly set this tour apart was the quality of service. Gamel Tours orchestrated every detail with precision, from hotel bookings to transportation, making our trip worry-free. Samrawit often went above and beyond, arranging special experiences that allowed us to connect with the local communities.
By the end of the journey, we were not just awed by the beauty of Ethiopia—we were also filled with a profound appreciation for its culture and history, thanks to Samrawit's and her network of knowledgeable agents, guides, and drivers' tireless efforts to enlighten us.
If you're yearning for an unforgettable adventure that both educates and captivates, look no further than Gamel Tours and. This trip did not just meet our expectations—it vastly exceeded them, especially considering the state of conflict in the North - we felt completely safe. Five stars aren't enough to encapsulate this extraordinary experience. Highly recommend!
Excellent Ethiopia tour company
Sam at Gamel tours is one of the best operator I have dealt with. From the first communication, she organized our trip to fit our plans and desires, making helpful suggestions when requested. She remained in contact with us throughout our visit, ensuring our expectations were met. The tour was priced very reasonably and the hotels very clean and nice.
Our drivers during the tour did a wonderful job. The vehicles were spacious and well maintained. We felt safe despite some poor road conditions and congested traffic.
Our guides were knowledgeable and communicated well in English. They were prompt and kept us well informed of details.
I would not hesitate to book again with Gamel Tours should we return to Ethiopia.
Fantastic personal attention and service making a very special tour.
My Title: From Ancient to Modern…..displays the life our our own ancestors only a few hundred years ago highlighting we are all humans with the same basic needs but now we cover them with “sophistication”
Gamel made a real effort to find the best guides, best driver and the best hotels available.

Journey to the Promised Land
Gamel Tours gave my wife and I a wonderful experience in Ethiopia! We were greeted with such kindness with each tour guide and driver. We really feel like and were treated like family. This is a 1st class experience full of love and hospitality. Everyone was wonderful! We are so grateful!
All of the drivers and tour guides spoke English well and were extremely timely. Plus, all of our meals were included in the price.
The 8 Day History Tour was an excellent value for those seeking to experience the religious and cultural history of Ethiopia firsthand on a budget.
