Unforgettable 5-Day Trekking Adventure in Bale Mountains National Park

We had an incredible experience on our 5-day trekking tour to Bale Mountains National Park from February 12–16, 2026, expertly organized by Armaye Ethiopia Tours.

From the very beginning, Armaye was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. Communication was always quick, clear, and efficient, which made the planning process smooth and stress-free. It was evident that everything was thoughtfully arranged with great attention to detail.

Our guide and driver accompanied us throughout the entire five days and truly made the journey special. He was polite, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. We felt completely comfortable and safe in his company, even while navigating the winding and mountainous roads. As he humorously described it, the drive included “African massages” along the way an expression that perfectly captured the adventurous spirit of the journey.

Beyond the logistics, what made this trip truly memorable was the warm, family like bond we developed during the trek. The shared experiences, stunning landscapes and daily interactions created a strong sense of connection that we will always cherish.
Inside the park, the accommodation exceeded our expectations. The facilities felt like a luxury vacation camp set in the h The food was excellent throughout the stay fresh, well prepared, and very satisfying after long trekking days.

Traveling with the office was an unforgettable experience. I received the best care. With the help of the office, I was also able to see a little into people's everyday lives. I was only in Ethiopia for seven days, but I visited amazing places and my companions were great people. I definitely want to go back and will choose Armaye Tours again.

This was a customized tour billed as focusing on wildlife photography, but it included so much more. In 3 weeks we did see a lot of wildlife, especially birds, but also a number of cities. The drivers, especially Ermi, were very knowledgeable and friendly. I especially liked the flexibility to adjust our schedule on the fly.

The price was very reasonable, particularly since we stayed in some of the best hotels in the country. I highly recommend Armaye Tours.

Note: The only thing I found annoying has nothing to do with Armaye. Apparently the Ethiopian government requires all tours to use local guides everywhere. In national parks this is often an armed scout. In the cities the local guide can be useful, but the scouts often just tag along and add little or no value. But of course they all expect tips at the end. This appears to be just to provide work for more people, since Ethiopia has a very high unemployment rate.

We did a full day Addis city tour with Armaye Tours and It was an amazing tour. Borook the tour guide was very knowledgeable, We got a lot of information about the culture and history of Ethiopia. I highly recommend this excursion!
