Fantastic Trip
I cannot say enough about how wonderful this trip was. From the planning stages I knew we would see some animals and amazing locations. I had no idea how amazing it would be until arrival in Tanzania. The trip was way beyond my expectations. The transitions between locations was smooth, everything was handled for us. The locations were amazing, the lodgings were very nice, and the animals we saw were beyond our dreams. I can't imagine any way for this trip to be better. Took a once in a lifetime trip that I will likely make again.
** Amazing holiday! Amazing tour operator! Best trip ever! **
We recently returned from the most amazing family holiday booked with Sunset Adventure Safari (Sunset Africa Ltd). We are a family of 5, 3 children from 11 to 16. We booked the 13 night Safari and Zanzibar tour. The booking team (Emma and Sarah) are fantastic. They quickly responded to any queries we had and also kept us up to date with requirements about the holiday, such as visas and the recently introduced Zanzibar insurance! They provided a personal touch, including an initial WhatsApp call to discuss the fine details of the holiday and were also super flexible, enabling us to adapt parts of the holiday, which we did for 4 nights in Zanzibar.
The holiday itself was out of this world! Our guide, Adam, picked us up from Kilimanjaro airport and guided us for the next 6 days through the beautiful sights of Tanzania's northern national parks. He was the perfect guide! He had endless knowledge of the parks, country's history and politics, and of course the flora and fauna. He had a knack for finding the perfect spots in the parks and we saw so many things including: a pride of 12 lions resting near some trees in the early morning, the Wildebeest and Zebra migrating south from the Maasai Mara in Kenya, a herd of elephant slowly making their way through the forest and around our Land Cruiser, a mother leopard playing with its young cub on a Kopje, lions resting in the trees, 3 cheetahs resting under a tree in the midday heat, a lone lion making several failed attempts to catch a gazelle, to name but a few. We saw every animal you could hope for on the safari part of the holiday and most in abundance.
Whilst the safari was our favourite part of the holiday, the trip to Zanzibar was amazing too and well needed after 6 days on safari! Stone Town is really interesting and definitely worth a day, the beaches are beautiful and we had a relaxing 4 days chilling on the north of the island.
The accommodation throughout provided a nice mix of styles, from the plush lodges near Karatu with outdoor swimming pools, to the well-equipped but rustic tents of the Serengeti, where we could hear lions roar in the night, to the 5 star luxury of the Zanzibar hotel. The staff at the lodges greet you with fresh cold flannels and hibiscus juice which was always welcomed after a long day on Safari!
** I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world on many holidays over my 40+ years!! This is definitely the best holiday I have been on and I would highly recommend both the trip and Sunset Adventure Safari. **
We cannot recommend this company enough!
**The Safari Experience**
We did the 5-day adventurous camping safari in October, and from start to finish, it was an incredible experience.
The camping aspect was fantastic! The first two nights felt more like glamping, with a campsite with amazing views and a lovely swimming pool. The next two days were more basic, but you really felt immersed in the Serengeti experience, especially hearing lions roar from inside the tent – an unforgettable thrill!
We also highly recommend the walking tour, where we set off with a ranger, and his rifle. Along the way, we encountered signs of recent animal activity and even spotted a giraffe by a watering hole. The ranger's relaxed demeanor helped put us entirely at ease.
**The Team**
Emma and Sarah were extremely helpful in coordinating our itinerary and guiding us through options to fit our preferences.
Our driver, Adam, picked us up from the hotel, and we collected Isaac, our chef, en route. We couldn’t have asked for a better team!
Adam was not only an excellent driver but also extremely knowledgeable about the local wildlife. His knack for predicting animal movements meant we were always in the best possible spots for sightings, and he put in so much effort to help us see everything we could have hoped for.
Isaac was super friendly and an incredible chef, serving up some of the tastiest meals – we definitely gained a few pounds!
A special shout-out goes to the team behind the scenes! Following a minor incident with a monkey, I needed a series of anti-rabies vaccinations. Adam and Godfrey, the tour operator, went above and beyond to source the necessary treatment in some *very* remote areas. Their care and dedication were truly appreciated 🙏
**Community Support**
On top of providing amazing experiences, the company also donates a portion of their profits to a charity supporting women and girls in Maasai communities – a wonderful mission we were glad to support.
Excellent customer service offering the best trip ever
I have always wanted to go on Safari and decided I was not going to put it off any longer. This trip was a year and a half on the planning as I decided I would treat myself for my birthday , a very significant birthday. I did a lot of research and eventually decided to go with Sunset Adventure Safari because when I looked at the schedules they offered and the animals you were likely to see I thought they offered the best. Their reviews were fantastic.
I booked with them directly. In the early stages of my enquiries about the trip Anna and Emma were fantastic. They answered all my questions, put up with me making multiple changes to the trip, always polite and helpful. Their communication was clear.
Coming up to the departure time all arrangements were made regarding the various transfers and we were sent the information along with contact details for a named person should we have any difficulty. I should also mention Sarah who corresponded with me closer to the time we were due to leave. Like Anna and Emma, Sarah was just as helpful. 10 out of 10 stars to all for customer service.
In the end I booked a bespoke Safari package and 3 of my friends joined me on the trip. The whole trip was 17 days and the cost included a night in a hotel on the day of arrival, 10 day safari all meals and water and 5 nights in Zanzibar on a bed and breakfast basis, all transfers. Flights were not included. It was definitely value for money and I would definitely recommend this company. The experience we had was priceless
Our driver/Safari guide Sele was the most amazing, helpful, fun, kind person who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great trip. We saw every animal that I had on my list and then some. If you book with this company and you get Sele as your guide you will definitely be in good hands.
The various lodges and hotels we stayed in throughout the trip were lovely. Some nicer than others but all of a good standard.
The whole safari experience was amazing. I think the photos I and my friends captured will speak for themselves. When the Safari ended, I really was not ready for it to be over.
If you are thinking of doing a Safari and you are looking at this company ... just book it, you will not regret it.
BEST TRIP EVER WITH SELE THE BEST GUIDE EVER. Thank you Sunset Adventure Safari and thank you Sele.
An unforgettable safari experience thanks to a professional and attentive team!
This safari was a unique experience that we will carry in our hearts forever!
But let's start from the beginning.
After careful consideration, we chose Sunset Safari Adventure because, from the very start, Emma’s proposal was the most detailed and full of options. She was truly attentive and available to ensure we had the best possible experience, meeting all our requests!
Our safari included visits to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, two days in the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater.
From the very start, Sele proved to be a careful, helpful, and extremely kind guide!
Throughout the entire safari, he accompanied us with great cheer, sharing lots of information about the environment, the animals, and their habits. Thanks to his professionalism, we managed to see all of the "Big Five". He is an excellent driver, and in addition to teaching us some Swahili words, he quickly learned many Italian phrases!
This trip exceeded all of our expectations!
A special thank you also goes to Frank, who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, without whom we wouldn’t have been able to send our postcards!
Jambo!
