He brings over 20 years of great working experience in the tourism industry as an expert guide and cultural liaison in East Africa destinations Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya and Uganda and Rwanda. Im a traveller around all the world, been in Africa more than 20 times.
Been in many Safaris, but these was absolutely the Experience!!!
Ombeni and his Crew are so professionals, it was something very difficult to improve.

This was my second time in Tanzania and I was looking for an adventure outside of a typical safari. Conservation Caravan Safaris listened and crafted the perfect trip for me that not only included one of my favorite stops - Zanzibar - but also some amazing new sights including the breathtaking Usambara Mountains, Mafia Island (where I swam with whale sharks), and Saadani National Park - the only park in Tanzania where you can see elephants, lions and hippos on the beach!

Conservation Caravan Safaris took care of everything from start to finish. Accommodations were comfortable and meals were top notch. The Irente View Cliff Lodge in Lushoto was a personal favorite with beautiful views and a fantastic avocado salad!

My guide, Ombeni Maka, was personable with a deep passion for and knowledge of his country, it's wildlife and unique culture. He made sure I felt comfortable and safe and went out of his way to be flexible and accommodate my needs.

I highly recommend Conservation Caravan Safaris for your African adventure - an unforgettable experience from safari to the sea!

My mother’s “bucket list” wish was to see the wild elephants in Africa, so we booked our trip to Tanzania based on some friends’ advice who had lived throughout Africa. Our trip was above and beyond our greatest expectations, largely due to Ombeni Samson Maka, our wonderful tour guide! Ombeni was the ideal guide, knowing where to go, what to see, and greeting everyone we visited as a friend. He showed us not only amazing wildlife, but also explained the biological, ecological, and cultural aspects of what we were seeing. We visited street markets in Arusha, Oldupai Gorge, the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Tarangire, and stayed at a tent camp in the Serengeti. We also had the pleasure of visiting a Masai tribe for a day and an elementary school on another day. Getting to see and interact with the local people and culture was amazing! The accommodations were fabulous, even in the middle of the Serengeti. The food was delicious, with a wide selection to choose from. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience… Due to Ombeni’s expertise I would go back in a heartbeat for my next African adventure! Just be sure to stay as long as you can… It will be an experience you will never forget!
