We went to Kenya for our honeymoon.
We had the chance to get a great guide and driver who took the time to let us look at Nature's beauties. He gave us a lot of explanations about the country, the animals, the people. The guy was pretty interesting.
We first stop at Lake Nakuru. We had the chance to see 2 000 000 pink flamingos. Amazing scene. The lodge was good, the food aswell but there were many many many mosquitos out there. Take some cream with you.
Then, we went in Masaaï Mara for 3 days. AWESOME!!! We've seen 4 of the 5 fives. The Leopard's pretty hard to see. We didn't have that chance. But we've seen some stuff we will never forget. What you see in reality is far better than what you see on TV.
It's hard to describe a trip like that. If you like wildlife, don't hesitate a second.

Ride an ATV across endless gigantic dunes beside the sea! A fantastic day, great fun. There are other activities too, but I only did the half-day ATV riding. It was fantastic! Make sure you have big sunglasses or goggles. They provide a helmet. The other wonderful thing I saw here was the Cape Fur Seal colony at Cape Cross -- another amazing sight! Hundreds of thousands of fur seals lounging on the beach and swimming in the ocean.

The way to see Sossusvlei (a stunning clay pan in the central Namib Desert) is to go in on foot with an experienced guide who will show you all the signs of life in the seemingly empty expanse of sand and cracked, rock-hard former waterholes. Lizards, birds, spiders, and even the occasional antelope family walk here too. The scenery in incredible, like nothing else on earth. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and take a BIG bottle of water.

About: Namibia
The Africa you don't know about

While Etosha park in Namibia is one of the GREAT African parks for seeing the Big 5 animals (especially the black rhinos), and really a marvelous place to travel in, it is really the rest of the country that springs to mind when I think of Namibia. Desert, the Bushman people, giant red and white dunes, unearthly red rock mountains, breathtaking narrow roads through rocky hills. Where there is no water you will see amazing deserts that seem to go on forever. You will find more cheetahs in Namibia than anywhere else in Africa (although most are now in protected reserves). The Cape Fur Seal colony and the Sossusvlei are unlike anything else, anywhere. I toured Namibia with Intrepid Travel's partner Dragoman. I did a different African camping trip (also in 2010) with Intrepid Travel and their partner Bundu, and really I liked the Bundu experience better -- the food was much better, and both the trip leader and the driver were South Africans. On the Dragoman trip, the trip leaders were not from Africa, and their knowledge was really superficial. I would also point out that even for people in their 20's, sleeping in a tent for 3 weeks or more becomes less pleasant as time goes on (assuming you're not used to it). Two weeks is not bad at all, but 3 weeks requires endurance. So it you're looking into tent-camping trips in Namibia or elsewhere, you should look closely at who is going to be your guide or leader throughout the trip.

Everything is good. I was at the north of SA next to the frontier of botswana. The only thing I regret it's a lot of farms or safari have some fences compare to botswana where all animals is free. Except that it's a very good destination, I didn't get the chance to go to kruger park but I heard a lot of comments that it's awesome.

We went to Tsavo in 2009 as part of a trip to Kenya. We stayed in the Ngulia lodge and the Voi safari lodge. Both were excellent locations, very comfortable with stunning views. At the Ngulia after enjoying cocktails whilst watching the sunset from your balcony you can then can share supper with a leopard who comes every night to eat the meat put out on a tree for it, just yards from your dining table - absolutely wonderful. At the Voi there is a wonderful watering hole where we watched buffalo and a Mother elephant and its baby come and drink whilst enjoying panoramic views across the Savanna. All this and the cutest little rock hyrax you have ever seen. We spent 2 days driving through East and West Tsavo with an expert guide and driver and saw the Big 5 as well as Zebras, Giraffe, wallowing hippos we watched a pride of lions at a drinking at dawn and much much more, highly recommended. Our driver and guide were knowledgeable and informative and above all friendly.

We stayed in a tented camp. Our tent had two beds, a wood floor and a modern bathroom. We felt safe as we were protected by an electric fence around our camp. Our guide knew how to find where the animals were for our photo taking in the early mornings and early evenings.
