great animal viewing from the hotel, but disappointing game drives

Sitting at the restaurant/bar at our lodge, we could spend all day watching animals come and go from the watering hole. This was the highlight of our visit in this park. Our drives were very disappointing with brush so dense, that animal sightings were rare. We booked Tsavo west in hopes of seeing Mount Kilimanjaro and seeing Rhinos. We didn't see either. I would plan extra time in the Masai Mara instead of Tsavo West.

Still can't comprehend what we saw

The African bush blew us away. Marc was our guide, a man with a wealth of information, patience beyond his years of experience and, well, just WOW.
Elephant Herd Tours and Safaris stated that they only use dedicated professional guides. You forgot to mention Passionate.
Thanks guys, you made our journey so enjoyable.

A most pleasant and rewarding experience

We were there with our Bird Club and the birding was fantastic. It is nice to see Mountain Zebras, Black Wildebees and Springbok which you don't always see in other National Parks. The accommodation is good though there was a bit of noise at times due to the ongoing building of new chalets. The scenery is magnificent despite very dry conditions. Wonderful view from our chalet patio. The staff without exception were friendly and so helpful. We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant on one of the nights of our stay.

I didn't see enough of birding to decide; and I don't know what bush vibe means.

Fantastic wild life experience with very close animal encounters. Was a truly life changing African experience sleeping under the stars.

Guides were amazing , very very friendliness and taking great care of each one also our safety was their nr 1 concern.

Absolutely amazing.

Great tour operator, a real pleasure

I went with my son to Kilimanjaro on a trip organized by Jungle Explorers. It was my second trip to Mt.Kibo, before I went with an international mountaineering organisation for nearly twice the price, but not the same quality. I can only recommend Jungle Explorers, we had a custom trip for a party of four. Very good guides, good equipment, good food and a great & squeaky clean toilet every day, which is a great thing to have. I have been on many safari trips before, but I would only book with Jungle Explorers now.

Lots of animals in a small space

Ngorongoro was the start of my safari vacation, and I'm glad it was at the start. Pretty much all the animals you're looking for are there, and you can see them in less than a full day.

However, it felt really over-crowded to me in an almost sickening way. There was one point where a female lion was sitting by the side of the road, and literally 30 safari cars pulled beside her to look. Because of all the cars, she lost track of her cubs and was crying out for them over and over. It was hot, the middle of the day, and she was scared. I was very sad.

Awesomeness in totality!
5/5

It was a really great experience for my wife and me. We were in Tanzania for the first time visiting family, but decided to take some days for a Safari in Serengeti,Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Well planned safari with rising levels of expectations...we did not miss out on any animal :) Every day was a surprise. Accommodations were fit and fine, and especially the food served was delicious- mix between local and international cuisine. What we perhaps enjoyed the most was the company of the tour co-ordinator and the driver! The driver was an expert- he did not miss out spotting any animal from far away without using binoculars (sometimes, I could not see some of them with the binoculars until they came closer, but he saw them and guessed them from their movements and other characteristics!).
Overall, I would highly recommend tourists to embark on this lovely safari trip and enjoy the beauties of Nature!!!

I had read that November was not the best time to visit most parks in Tanzania but was pleasantly surprised. I saw pretty much every animal i had been told I could see at this park in reasonable numbers. The weather was dry and sunny with a cool breeze during drives. The guide was amazing, the staff at the company Sandland Tours were an example in superuior customer service even in the most basic conditions and I wished I could be on safari forever.
