Not a lot to see here. Very expensive boat trip, $50 each which only lasted an hour and didn't see many animals! A better lake was Naivasha which had a great variety of birds on the lake and animals in the park. The best place to see black and white Rhinos and an abundance of flamingos. Weren't taken to the actual park.

Nice but animal population sparse. Some good birds here.

Freddy was very informative and accommodating but not that flexible when it came to schedules.

I enjoyed my time at the Masai. The place was breathtaking, animals everywhere (we saw more than 20 lions!) and the hotel was spectacular! But I wouldn’t say it was a great value for money for various reasons. We had to skip lunch the first day because the restaurant we stopped at ran out of food. I was promised water but didn’t receive any until the last day. There was also an activity that I had to give up since the driver said it was optional and wasn’t paid for then later found out that it was paid for but it was too late to go. And it was supposed to be a 3 day safari when actually it was just a day and a half. I would recommend checking what time the park is actually open and confirming the schedule for when you will go for a game drive before booking.

Very dry landscape, very little wildlife. Some lions, leopards and wild dogs. Almost no herbivores. I do not recommend reserving at the end of the dry season for this reason.

We saw less animals comparing to Tanzania Parks, we have been in november and are too many bushes, the animals hide better.

We have seen just one elefant and a few other animals. Bird watching was better. Scenery at the lake side nice. Djungle forest beautiful.

Kasanka National Park
Overall rating
3/5

We camped at Kasanka for three nights. Although the bat experience was amazing, the admin side from Wasa was awful. They had tripled booked our campsite, the prices were different from what we were quoted when we arrived. The transport for the bat viewing were also an issue. However, the campsite was beautiful, the ablutions were clean and the scenery and bats were amazing. We did have a brilliant guide too - Simon.

We did the David Livingstone Memorial and was so so worth it! A great educational experience, clean and neat and perfect for a picnic! It’s about 7kms from Kasanka on tar and then an additional 25kms on a dirt road that is absolutely perfect!

Great destinations, a lot of waiting with little communication
3/5

The tour got us where we wanted to go, there were several times where we were asked to wait, tour guide disappeared for long periods of time without providing us information as to what we could do in this time (for example explore) accommodation had been changed and we only discovered this upon arrival at the accommodation. Despite booking a triple share tour this had not been prepared at each location. The vehicle itself left a fair bit to be desired and let us down. There were frustrations which we discussed with the tour guide as they arose. We seen what we set out to see so for that we are grateful. However I don’t believe we really got value for money given the time wasted and missed opportunities as a result. I wouldn’t be opposed to booking with Karumuna again however I would require clearer confirmation on what we should expect.

All good, but evening safari was a scam
3/5

The tour itself is very good. Hoppy (our guide) was very experienced and could spot animals really well. He also geve us a lot of information about the animals and respond every single question we asked. Accomodations and food were also good.

The really bad part of this tour is the evening safari. The guide was very unexperienced and just cared about driving, keeping his eyes on the road all the time, and talking a lot and veeeery slow. The few animals we saw were spotted by the tourists, not the guide. In addition, the torches were supposed to be operated by the tourists, but we had no instructions about it.
Definitely the worst safari I have ever had in Africa. WildSafaris sould change the operator for this safari, as it is very unprofesional that they put unexperienced and non-motivated guides.
