Great introduction to wildlife of Kenya.
4/5

We were very pleased with our guide and upgrade to an old but sturdy 4 wheel drive. Our accommodation at Ol Pajeta was great and good in Nakuru and Masai Mara. We tried hard to spot all of the Big 5 but the leopard eluded us. We had all animals and birds identified for us and enjoyed the safari immensely. Our only problem came before the tour, when we were told our deposit had been taken back by our bank. This was quite difficult to deal with as we were left wondering for a few days what was going on. Request for a receipt for deposit were ignored. However all ended up well, though we could have done without the stress before the safari.

Amazingly Beautiful and Wild Landscape

4/5

Tsavo West was the last stop on our 12 day honeymoon safari through Kenya with Natural Tours and Safaris. We had first visited Samburu, Mt. Kenya, Aberdares, Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. Despite having been to so many amazing locations, we found Tsavo to be amazingly beautiful and unique. The landscape is a striking mix of rocky hills, greenery, black volcanic lava flows and red dirt that makes for some spectacular scenery. It also felt like the most 'wild' of the parks. We lodged at Rhino Valley which was very comfortable, set in a beautiful location and had some of the best food of our trip. There seemed to be a good chance of seeing leopards there (we saw 2), and the 'red' elephants are also quite cool. The one downside was that because it's so wild, hilly and brushy, wildlife can be harder to spot and so we went on a number of drives where we didn't see too much. Despite that, I still think Tsavo West is well worth the trip - just not if it's your only chance to see wildlife.

Kenya Safari- Masai Mara and Amboseli- January 2020
Overall rating
4/5

Went on two 3 day safari's in Kenya, first to the Masai Mara and the second to Amboseli. All in all the two trips were good value given the low price, I've listed the pros and cons below.

Pro's-
-Amazing scenery and wildlife, you cannot get any wilder than the Masai Mara! You will more or less be guaranteed to see at least 3/4 of the big 5!
-Amboseli is one of the most scenic safari parks in the world with the Kilimanjaro backdrop! It really is a photographers dream!
-Food is good given the facilities (used to cook the food)- have a broad mind and enjoy the flavours!

Con's-
-For 3 days there is just too much driving from Nairobi to the Masai Mara and back. Amboseli and back is manageable because the distance is considerably less. And the roads are absolutely terrible in places, choose a more expensive vehicle- anything other than a 4x4 is not suitable!
-Wildlife is heavily dependent on the season- better in the dry season. We saw lots of wildlife in the Mara, but didn't see hardly any wildlife in Amboseli except lots of elephants and the general assortment of other smaller animals like antelope etc.
-Be prepared to eat the food, it wont be what you are used to at home!

Everything was well executed, the guide was on time to pick us up from the hotel. The weather was favorable, it rained a few times. The nature is incredibly beautiful. Our guide and driver Mr William was really on top, taking us there and back even though the flooded river was an obstacle. Due to the rains, the roads were in poor condition in places. The accommodation was ok, the food could have been better.

We saw a lot, maybe the highlight was eating wild dogs, eating a dead hippo. We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, Hippos, and others.

A great adventure
4/5

It was very well arranged. The drivers were punctual and very polite. The driver guide at Arusha was very skilled and very highly knowledgeable; the information he shared on the animals and roads were very helpful and accurate. His English was commendable and his enthusiasm was contagious.

The lodging at Serengeti and Ngorongoro were very good, clean rooms, excellent services, good food, although better at Ngorongoro that at Serengeti. The people were very friendly, polite and very helpful. The only issue I had was with the quality of the lunch box food that Serena Serengeti offered us. The lunch box included a piece of chicken and a piece of bread, among other things. However, the chicken, which was the main meal for the two following days I spent there, was extremely dry, left over from the night before and totally inedible! For the good service they provided, that issue was a shame!

The car that we drove was very old and needed a few repairs, and even though it was a strong car, yet it broke the muffler on the way at Ngorongoro, and the driver left me at the information center for the hour it needed to be repaired.

Despite the above, I thought the trip was excellent, well organized and the guide did a very fine job.

Thank you for your efforts.

Regards,

Exceptional Safari with Timeless Travel Africa!
4/5

Thanks again to Paul again for organizing everything. We had a four day tour through Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro. We were four friends (two couples) together with our cook Robert and our guide Ziddie. Robert made great food for us. There was plenty of soup, salads, fresh fruits, good meals,... Very tasty and none of us had any troubles, and thank you very much for planning for our extension to Zanzibar Island, ill get back to you all when we back home.

Great experience with one exception

I had a great time on my trip to Kenya. I will start with the negative and then go with the positive. I became dehydrated on the trip. The first day we travelled over 8 hours and were not given any water, nor were we allowed to buy any. We made several stops, one over 30 minutes, and our driver just talked to people. Nothing, just chilling with his friends. Then we ask to get out and he refused to get out. Then would not give us any water. Being someone how has leg cramps and an athlete, water is VERY important. It was told on our trip that all water would be given to is. It was not. Also on the last two days we were not given any water either. So three dya we went without any water in the hot place. We had to buy the water, after we were told it would be free.

That part aside, it was one of the best vacations of my life. I enjoy seeing the animals and I was able to see all of the big five except for the leopard. The animals were very fun and it was good to experience life in Africa. I never knew there were that many animals out there. We also, one day, saw the elusive and highly endangered black rhino. Our guide told us that he usually only sees them about every 100 days. So that was super exciting. Being a teacher, I have to travel cheap and this was a great value for the trip. The food was the same every meal, but there was plenty of it. The places you stay are good, if you remember it is a budget experience. I did not mind it at all and met some really cool people. I used Safari Line Defender and Rose was the one who set it up for me. It was all very professional.....with the exception of the water.

I would highly suggest using this safari Line Defender and work with Rose. It was a GREAT time!!
