Ngorongoro has a huge number of wild animals within a fairly small space.

Amazing wildlife

We were very lucky with the animals we saw, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, baboons, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, and flamingos, huge numbers of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, and many others. Our guide was very good, and our cook prepared surprisingly good food for us. The tents in which we camped were fine, but the bathrooms at the campsites were disgusting.

Tanzania is one of the best places in the world, if not the best, for seeing large mammals in the wild. It's not as touristy as some other countries in Africa. The people are friendly, and the culture is interesting (particularly the Maasai).

Review about Tarangire National Park by bruges00

Great to see especially baobabs and elephants, among others. Lovely scenaries along the river. Quite impressive some accomodations inside the park, because of the marvellous locations where they have been built. I'd stay not less than 2 days.

Review about Serengeti National Park by bruges00
Overall rating
5/5

Its fame is well deserved. Absolutely magnificent. Huge and with different scenaries and types of natural environments. The area near Seronera is especially beautiful and full of wild animals. Pity that at times it may be slightly crowded (too many jeeps around). The area near Lobo is somewhat less spectacular and less rich of animals. Best experience for me was spending some nights in a tented camp. 2/3 days in serengeti are a must.

Review about Lake Manyara National Park by bruges00
Overall rating
4/5

Great scenaries around the lake. Cats, giraffes and elephants easily spotted while they go to the lake to drink at evening or inside the vegetation on the way to the lake. Rich also of hippos, flamingos and many other species of birds. Sunset is great moment to go, lovely colours on the horizon. On the way to the park, one may think to make a stop in the Mtowambu village: Very interesting the guided tour aroiund the village, organised by local people and with provents going to local population. One day is in my view enough.

Review about Arusha National Park by bruges00
Overall rating
4/5

Quite different from other parks. Sligthly less frequent to see the big animals which can be more frequently seen in the other parks of northerm tanzania, but great vegetation, lush and green. Nice experience that of canoeing on one odf the many lakes in the park. Not many options for accomodation. Easily reachable from Arusha. I'd consider to include a short (e.g. 2 days) visit to this park when staying for a safari of at least 10 days.

Amazing experience

I found NCA a magnificent park. Unique scenary, wild animals basically everywhere and easily to spot and see while they e.g. move, drink from the lake, hunt, rest.
1/2 days in ngorongoro is in my opinion enough as the crater is not that big. Accomodation is somewhat expensive and one may consider staying in one of the villages just outisde the NCA for good accomodation at molre reasonable prices. A trek on the Empakai crater possibly walking , guided by a masai, as far as lake natron is an amazing experience.
