Nice tour
5/5

I could see the Big 5 during 4 days.
The driver is so nice. I could see many animals closely.
Day 3, I did not go to Nakuru lake in the plan.
There were some problems. But finally I could see many animals and go back to the airport.

Safed our trip and made it perfect and unforgettable
5/5

We rented a Rav4 and booked gorilla permits with another company before arrival at Entebbe airport. The car finally was provide by this company and the permits as well. The car was in excellent condition and we haven't had any issue with it throughout the whole trip. Irene and Fiona have been our contact persons who we trusted and helped us at any time we contacted them. Of course we can recommend to book with them!

Flawless Namibian adventure where every detail was looked after and each location built on the last
5/5

This trip lived up to our dreams and so much more. Rose’s itinerary really showcased Namibia in a beautiful and exciting way. Each camp took us on exciting excursions where we got to really learn about the region and wildlife. Originally we had expected Namibia to be more of a landscape safari but our guides were so incredible at tracking and knowing their camps that we found so much wildlife everywhere we went, including the spotting of the elusive desert black rhino!
Aside from the adventure element of the trip, I have to say that the camps were true luxury. They were quite obviously designed with privacy in mind, and each had a character to them that enhanced the landscape around you. Each camp also selected a beautiful spot to have either breakfast lunch or sunset snack in beautiful lighting overlooking stunning landscapes. As a photographer by trade, I could not have been more happy in one of the most beautiful countries I have experienced.
A sincere thank you to Rose & her team for an incredible trip! We’re really looking forward to working with her again :)!

Amazing family holiday over Christmas to South Africa
5/5

WOW! I can't thank Alex enough for helping us design, book and ensure we had a fabulous family holiday.

Alex came recommended by a friend, for whom she had designed an amazing honeymoon but with two young daughters (8 & 10) our needs were going to be very different. From the very start Alex's approach was very friendly and warm. She listened to our loose plans, questioned us on our likes and dislikes and then put together her suggested itinerary, we discussed this at length altering it to reflect our feedback, availability and budget. You can see that Alex’s loves what she does and cared passionately about getting it right for us. Her personal knowledge, contacts and experience were all evident in shaping our holiday.

Communication was excellent, before, during and after our trip, with fast responses. It felt that Alex was getting just as excited about our trip as we were. Everything we needed to know was provided on paper and via a very helpful app, this included all possible background, from what to pack and vaccination requirements through to thoughtful restaurant and activity suggestions, to driving directions.
She managed our expectations well, providing realistic ratings and descriptions of our accommodation choices and even gave updates prior to our departure e.g. on building work at an adjoining property (which we didn’t even notice when we were there).

On the holiday itself it felt that we were VIP’s, whether purely though great accommodation choices or through more direct influence it felt that we always got ‘the room with a view’, or some special feature that made it and us feel really special.

I don’t normally do reviews but in this case felt motivated to do so. I can’t recommend Extraordinary Africa and Alex specifically enough!

Amazing 8 day safari in Rwanda/Uganda
5/5

I just completed an 8 day trip with Mamaland Safaris (Kigali, Lake Bunyonyi, Bwindi NP, QENP, and Kibale NP). I would highly recommend this company for anyone wanting to visit East Africa. The service, accommodations, and overall experience exceeded my expectations.

Edrisa was my first point of contact. He patiently answered all of my questions before and after I booked my trip. Once I arrived in Kigali, my guide was waiting for me. Paul was absolutely amazing. Not only was he a great guide and safe driver, he was wonderful company in the car during our long drives. He provided me with so much information about Uganda, the people, and all the animals/birds we saw along the way. I also met the owner of the company (Tony) who was also very friendly and knowledgeable.

Provides an excellent personal service with care and knowledge at less cost than the big boys
5/5

Wayfairer Travel assembled a fantastic package for us, tailored to meet our own requirements and which exceeded all of our expectations. They work in conjunction with Serena in East Africa, in particular in the Mara and Samburu, who gave s a fabulous time, in the North Mara conservancy, owned by the Masai and so much better than the main (rather overcrowded) main Mara. We can fully recommend their brilliant accommodation at Serena Wild (tented camp, an absolute "must do" in our view) and Serena Mara Lodge. Food was outstanding (Italian trained local chefs), and guides were skilled, with great local knowledge on the animals and birds. We were given our own guide and vehicle, Dixon the guide was fabulous. As this trip was over the Christmas break, they threw in the most amazing Christmas meal on the Mara plains, with elephants in the background and then capped it all with a surprise party for me on my birthday 2 days later. All at no extra cost.

Our follow up week in Zanzibar at the Pongwe Beach was equally good, a lovely clean beach, warm seas, simple thatched accommodation all set in a lovely landscape. Staff were friendly, and the food excellent (especially for fish lovers. it was uncrowded heaven (unlike Stonetown, rather crowded and over-priced. Go to the Pongwe and avoid the crowds. Again, all hand picked by Wayfairer to meet our brief.

Wayfairer Travel costs came in at 75% of the big 3 agents in UK. Granted, they do not produce glossy brochures, and their travel package is a simple printed summary but it had everything you need and we were met and cared for at every stop, so do not be fooled by the glossy photo montages of the bigger agents. Wayfairer cover your flights with ABTA so you still travel reassured that you will get home if anything should be wrong with the agent / airline. At the very least, approach them before signing up with a bigger agent.

Adventure of a Lifetime
5/5

I selected African Traits for my first visit to Tanzania with my 24 year old son. The owner Godfrey was extremely responsive from the start accommodating my request for adjustments to the itinerary and multiple questions. We did a (7) day Kilimanjaro climb via the Lemosho route which was absolutely beautiful and we reached the summit as planned thanks to our guides insistence on "pole pole". The climbing team including porters, guides and chef we friendly and fun to be with and we learned a lot about Tanzania, Kilimanjaro and a bit of Swahili along the way which was awesome!. Gear and food were all very adequate along the way in fact I have never eaten so well on any on my longer term climbs or hikes. Following the climb we did a (2) day safari at Tarangire and Ngorongoro which were incredible. We opted for lodge accommodations after spending six nights in a tent and were very please with the Masailand Lodge in Arusha post climb and Farm House Lodge in Karatu. In a short two day period our guide was able to help us view the "big five" and simply enjoy the beautify of Tanzania, some of its music and culture. I would definitely recommend African Traits for your trip to Tanzania and I hope we can make plans to visit again!
