Everything we could have asked for and more
From the beginning our tour with Papa John has been great, he provided plenty of information before every journey and explained what would be happening day by day so we were well informed.
During the tour he was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and masai people. You can tell he is extremely passionate about the animals and teaching visitors about them, he goes past just explaining the animals and their habitat but also has scientific explanations for why some things occur, we didn't have a question he couldn't answer.
While on the safari John identified a group of lions, he knew before it happened that the male and female was likely to mate and we were lucky to see the 10 seconds of wonder, he also spotted an older larger male nearby and kept close enough for us to get a great view of what would become a fight for dominance, his expertise meant we were truly fortunate to witness both events.
We've felt safe throughout our tour and have had everything we've needed, we would definitely recommend and hopefully work with Papa John and Jocky tours again.

Almost 5 star safari on a budget
I traveled solo during the low season and wanted to experience a safari in Tanzania on a budget. Joining a group was the only realistic way to make that happen. I booked the tour about five months in advance and chose mid-range accommodation.
Because travelers in my group stayed in different accommodation categories (budget, mid-range, and luxury), there was additional time spent each day picking everyone up — sometimes up to an extra hour of driving. It wasn’t ideal, but I understood it as part of a mixed-group setup, especially during the low season.
Derick handled the arrangements and was friendly and easy to communicate with. The company used vehicles and guides from another operator, which I assume is a common practice during low season to consolidate groups.
The only unpleasant aspect was that two out of six nights my accommodation was slightly downgraded without advance notice. Better communication here would have made a difference. That said, it didn’t overshadow the overall experience.
I was asked in advance about food preferences, but no special arrangements were actually made. I adjusted and simply avoided meat and chicken in the lunch and breakfast boxes, which was manageable but worth noting for travelers with stricter dietary requirements.
The safari itself was outstanding. Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire were unforgettable, and the guides, vehicles, and Serengeti lodge were genuinely five-star in terms of the overall experience.
In most lodges (except the first and last nights in Arusha), there was no internet in the rooms — only in common areas like dining or reception — something to be aware of if connectivity matters to you.
Overall, the safari experience was excellent and deeply rewarding. For a solo traveler on a budget, it delivered exactly what I came for: remarkable wildlife, strong guiding, and unforgettable days in Tanzania’s national parks

Fantastic safari and service!
Fantastic safari for four days 18-21 Januari (2026) arranged by Midian and with Luka as excellent guide and driver. Midian went above and beyond in his communication leading up to the trip (we booked ourselves with them a few months prior) but also meeting us for a briefing before as well as checking with us afterwards that we were satisfied. Luka took us in a Toyota Land Cruiser with pop-up roof around Serengeti, Nduto and the Ngorongoro crater. We saw all of the big five, and some 40 other animals and birds and Luka told us all about them and was extremely patient with the 1000+ questions we asked him. 🤣 He was fantastic at spotting animals and sharing information and entertaining stories. We stayed in really good tent camps and a hotel with swimming pool the last night. The food and hospitality of hotel staff left nothing more to wish for. Everything was as described by Midian or better, highly recommended! Six of five stars!

Beyond Travel gave me an excellent experience, both leading up to and during my trip to Uganda. They were very flexible and willing to accommodate custom changes to the itinerary, and were friendly and knowledgeable. They arranged for a pickup in Kigali, along with an onward bus ticket after the tour. Ahmed, the owner of the company, was communicative throughout the process, and I appreciated him taking the time to meet with me in person during the tour to seek feedback on the experience. Chris, the gentleman who drove me around, was also friendly and helpful.
As for the tour itself, I have never seen such beautiful landscapes. Lake Bunyonyi is beautiful, as was Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. In addition, the wildlife experiences were second to none, from the lively chimpanzees to the gorillas at rest, to the monkey families in the Bigodi swamp. The lodges were all top-notch, with attentive staff and comfortable rooms.
The tour is an excellent value. Thanks to Beyond Travel, I was able to experience gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking at an affordable rate. I highly recommend Beyond Travel.

Excellent safari and beach experience with Visit Tanzania Now

Safari was a real adventure. I've seen many animals, I have linked my friends and I created many beautiful memories. Ours, Kikutu was and is the spirit of this safari.
